The operation is performed under general anaesthesia.
An incision is made around the areola and another vertical incision is made from the lower area of the areola to the inframammary fold. In cases where the breasts are drooping (i.e., with a distance to the areola and nipple above 30cm.), another horizontal incision through the inframammary fold will generally be necessary, and possibly even a graft with the areola-nipple complex.
Post-operative care involves:
- Relative rest for one week.
- You shouldn’t carry anything heavy or do sport for the first 2 weeks.
- You should wear a sports bra.
