Hyperhidrosis

Hyperhidrosis is the excessive production of sweat, usually in the palms, soles of the feet, and armpits. It can also affect the head and face.

Hyperhidrosis can severely affect quality of life, as this excess sweating has nothing to do with the temperature or your emotional state.

The administration is the main medical (i.e., non-surgical) treatment for hyperhidrosis at our Barcelona centre. Applied to the hands, feet and armpits, it relaxes the sweat glands and reduces the production of sweat in the treated area.

It is injected in small drops using a very fine needle on the surface of the area to be treated.

As with wrinkles, the effect of the treatment is not immediate – it begins to be noticed between a week and 10 days post-injection. The effect lasts approximately 6-12 months, so the frequency of treatment depends on the aims of each patient.
